Integration of Petrophysics and Core Analysis, including One Practical Day

Course & Workshop

May 8-12, 2022

Instructor : Dr. Ahmed Abdel Karim

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Petrophysicists, Geologists, Engineers, Geoscientists petroleum, reservoir or drilling engineer and in general, any oil & gas industry professional who is involved in logging data interpretation and validation. You must have already basic knowledge in using open hole logs and doing basic interpretation.

Course Objective

This course will teach you how to evaluate reservoirs and identify the robust results, reserves and simulation are achieved by the logical, systematic integration of all relevant data. A quality interpretation is extremely cost-effective compared with data acquisition or development mistakes and essential with today’s complex reservoirs and data sets.

This course focuses also on open hole data acquisition, interpretation, routine and special core analysis (RCA, SCAL) procedures. The course covers all the basics of log data acquisition and interpretation as well as identify the petrophysical parameters from both core and systematic work flows of log data. New high technology tools will also be reviewed and the applications of those tools described.

Integration between the core-log will often replace the need to run expensive, irrelevant logs, explain apparent data conflicts and provide the correct answer faster, strengthening your position as an operator. By contrast, stand-alone log analysis often results in wrong decisions and weakens your technical position from your partners point of view.

This course, evolved over 25 years of petrophysical consulting and lectures, demonstrates how robust answers are achieved by the logical integration of diverse data. Integrated Petrophysics was one of the best petrophysics integration course and remains the top Benchmarking Petrophysics Course today
