Material for the course will include many of the classic overpressure area such as Levant Basin\, Nile Cone and Red Sea. \nCourse Content\nSession 1\n• Introduction\n• Definitions\, data datums\n• Pressure-Depth Plots\n• Reservoir Pressure Data\n• Overburden – importance and how to generate\n• Fracture Pressures \nSession 2\n• Overpressure generating mechanisms\n• Pore pressure prediction and methods\n• Relationship between shale and reservoir pressures\n• Tools for Pore Pressure Prediction \n– Drilling data\n– Logs\n– Seismic velocities\n– Basin Models \nSession 3\n• Hydraulic Seal Failure – HPHT and Seal Capacity \nLOCATION\nFirst day will be held at the Holiday Inn Maadi Hotel\, in Cairo. The participants will fly the next day to Hurghada. The course will be continued in Hurghada. \n  \nCOURSE FEES\nInclusive of refreshment and lunch at the Holiday Inn Maadi Hotel. Air Ticket Cairo/Hurghada return and accommodation in Hurghada. \n  \nINSTRUCTOR PROFILE\nSteve is a GeoPressure domain expert who has also been involved in many 100’s of projects globally\, ranging from basinal studies and exploration risking to well planning/design and field assessments. He has extensive experience in SE Asia. \nHe has been involved in knowledge transfer and has taught more than 70 courses including bespoke courses for companies focused on integrating G&G\, asset and drilling teams. \nHe has been instrumental in developing “Best Practice” workflows\, has been involved in R&D to help reduce uncertainty in pore pressure prediction\, and has integrated pore pressure with other disciplines such as rock physics and geomechanics. \nHe has written and been co-author on over 50 published papers. \nCore Competencies: \nSeal breach analysis – risking of top-seals (dry hole vs discovery analysis)\,\nIdentifying the evidence for hydrodynamic flow and the effects of lateral drainage and tilted contacts\, migration and reserve estimation during field development and production\,\nDerivation of well plans for HP/HT drilling\, as well as for sub-salt\, deep-water\, carbonate and other drilling environments\,\nUnderstanding shale and reservoir pore pressures and their common differences\,\nIdentifying regional pressure trends and wildcat drilling\,\nModeling the effects of secondary overpressure mechanisms and quantifying their contributions\,\nOverburden management and development drilling\,\nPredicting pore pressure in unconventional plays
